Saw this beautiful swan while out bike riding yesterday.                                                                         Hoping there is a mate nearby.

The Englishman and I both reached for our phones at the same moment last night in order to capture this scene.  Daughter #1's oldest dog, Barney, spent the week with us while she was away.  Our boy Dudley seemed content to be close to him - a rare event indeed.

I am "spoilt for choice" as they say in England with all the lovely magazines Daughter #1 brought back for me from London.  

So very true - my afternoon plans are set!

Woke up to several inches of snow which had fallen during the night, 

while at the same time the first bud sprung open on my gardenia plant.

A hopeful sign of things to come!
