A Monday Memory....
I got my first credit card in 1974 from the Harvard Coop in Cambridge, MA. (No, I didn't attend Harvard, but a small woman's teacher training college named Lesley College, across the street from Harvard Law School.) When I married in 1979, I opened up charge cards at Lord and Taylor's, B. Altman's, Bambergers (now Macy's) and others. I haven't actually used any of them for several years now, but the accounts are still open and active.
I recently received a letter from Target store, where I opened an account in 2011. They stated, "We haven't seen you in a while, so we're writing to inform you that it is our policy to close Target Credit Card accounts that are inactive for an extended period of time." Extended period of time? The last time I shopped there was November. The letter went on to say that I still had time to shop before another letter would follow and they would take steps to close the account.
I really didn't care for the tone of the letter and the feeling it gave of almost being threatened. So this morning I called and closed the account myself. Their policy doesn't exactly come across to me as "customer friendly."
I prefer to take my business where I feel comfortable and appreciated, and where I don't have to follow a timetable. I suspect others feel the same way too.

Friday Fotos.....
These curtains are nice.....but I started to tire of the "dizzy" design.
Hmm... the colors of these curtains complimented the corner chair and the fact that we live near the water, but didn't seem to work with our furniture.
Yes!! Finally found ones I am very happy with! The best part - they are truly as advertised as "blackout" curtains!! Much needed due to the street lamp outside and the fact that most of our neighbors leave their outside lights on.
And those coral curtains?
They look perfect in our guest room and complete the "beach" theme!
Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend - may you be cool and storm free!!

Thursday's Thought for the Day....
"To be kind to all, to like many and love a few, to be needed and wanted by those we love, is certainly the nearest we can come to happiness."

Wednesday's Wisdom....
Having a beloved dog with "sundowning" (a.k.a. nighttime dementia) has led us to sleeping in shifts, getting up and answering his barks during the night, and basically a lack of much needed sleep.
But if that's what he needs, our love of him and the desire to keep him with us as long as possible, keeps us going.

Silly, I know, but I actually laugh every time I see this.
Some days we just need a lighter moment.

Friday Fotos....
Before....
after.
I was sorry I didn't get a "before" photo when the closet was stuffed. It was jammed packed, including the vacuum and steam mop. Enter my clever Englishman and voila!! Not only did he prep, paint, install new shelves and flooring he discovered an automatic LED overhead light which brightens the entire closet! What a difference!!
Today, he has begun to redeem our washer/dryer space!
I am so blessed!!

A Monday Memory....
Forty one years ago.... An Englishman and his weekend host invited some young ladies to dinner. And the rest, they say, is history.
