Tip for a Tuesday....
The Beehive Workshop
"After years of building in wood, cardboard, foam, and 3D modeling, the Beehive Workshop discovered the excitement and versatility of laser cutting and engraving. We can cut and engrave into wood, cardboard, acrylic, rubber, paper and fabric. With the opening of the workshop in the historic Long House in beautiful Hope, New Jersey, the team is so excited to work with each customer in order to make your project the best that it can be. "
The photo doesn't do it justice, but the above is a board which Daughter #1 had engraved by The Beehive Workshop with my Mother's famous pumpkin bread recipe. It replicates the recipe card she passed on to me, right down to the stains and smudges from years of use.
It is a tangible reminder of her beautiful handwriting and brings back memories of her baking these loaves and sharing them generously.
Check out the website of these talented women and see what items and ideas they have to offer.

A Monday Memory.....
School days, school days....
So true!!
I envied the kids that had Sheaffer pens. My Dad always bought us Wearever pens because they had extra cartridges and were cheaper. Anyone else remember how they would leak and stain your fingers, as well as fill your pencil case with ink?
Remember these? We would write on them with our pens. I can recall carrying one of these with my books in my arms instead of placing them in a bookbag. Much cooler!
It seems we were easily pleased back then. There were certainly fewer choices. Today there seems to be an overwhelming amount of pens alone to choose from. And we wonder why we are so stressed......

Tip for a Tuesday....
I'm back.
Strep throat, followed by bronchitis, more than a month looking after Daughter #1 while she recovered from labrum tear repair surgery on her hip, followed two weeks later with her passing a kidney stone, one of her basset hounds finally losing what little sight he had left in one of his eyes due to glaucoma becoming totally blind.....it's been a bit hellish around here lately.
Thankfully, we are on the mend and things seem to have quieted down for the moment. The Englishman has been my savior and helped me enormously! Since his retirement as of the first of the year he has run our household, (including the laundry!!) looked after our basset who is aging before our eyes, driven Daughter #1 and her Ollie to the eye specialist for consult and surgery, and to her physical therapy and doctor. He has forced me to rest so I can finally stop coughing, which I greatly appreciate and have benefited from. (I think he's busier now than when he was working!)
Next up? Daughter #3 is due with her baby #3, our first grandson, in just a couple of weeks. So my bags are packed and I'm ready to look after the little ones while she is in hospital.
In the meantime....
The Englishman rented this movie yesterday and I highly recommend it!!!
But please don't read any reviews or info about it before hand, as it would spoil it for you.
