Tip for a Tuesday....

source: Pinterest

I've actually been taking naps on Sunday afternoons lately.
It's a taste of heaven!
And necessary.
Because our Basset wakes us during the night.
Every night.
But we love him dearly, so we don't mind.
Well, not too much.

Wednesday's Wisdom....

Accept....

“Accept—then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.
Always work with it, not against it … This will miraculously transform your whole life.” — Eckhart Tolle

And as a friend of mine often says, "Just because you accept it, doesn't mean you have to like it." I have learned that once I accept it, I can then take action and do something about it.

A Monday Memory....

Growing up, this encyclopedia held pride of place in our living room.
The World Book Encyclopedia arrived a few years later.
I can still hear my Dad when I would pose a question instruct me to "Look it up."

I still look things up.
Only now I can use a computer, which seems to have unlimited amounts of information.
My Dad would be amazed with today's technology and probably spend  most of his days in front of a screen.
Though I suspect, like me, he would still find there is something wonderful about holding a book in your hand and skimming the pages.

Wednesday's Wisdom....

"3. Reduce stress.
If we want to improve our health and live with more energy and wellness, we have to be willing to live with less stress. Here’s the road to less stress: Less stuff. Less busyness. Less drama. Less debt. Less worry. Less fear. It takes time, but go down this road."

Tip for a Tuesday....

Just dance....
I spent some time with the tiniest of my granddaughters  the last couple of days. Their parents had to attend funeral services for a dear family member. When the two and 1/2 year old looked at me in fright as her parents departed I knew I needed to take immediate action.
"Alexa - play kids music!"
Instantly her face lit up, arms reached for me and we twirled and swayed to "Baby Shark" (you poor parents who have to listen to that on repeat all day!!) followed by several more songs. By the fifth one I had to admit "Grandmom's tired" and put her down. But the music played on, she continued to smile and sway as did her 10 month old sister.

Music can lift our moods, bring us back in time and just make the day better.
So crank up those radios, record players, Apple devices or Alexa.
It's sure to bring smiles all around.
(Certainly beats listening to the news!)
