Thursday's Thought for the Day....

"Anyone who has been through dark times knows there are moments when you can't think what, exactly, there is to be thankful for - you simply can't feel, in the depths of your heart, grateful. When those moments pass - and when I look around, and feel that profound heart-stopping gratitude for all that is right and beautiful in the world - well, I'm grateful for gratitude."

Wednesday's Wisdom....

Reasons for...
CHANGE

                                   Current

                                   Habits

                                   Are

                                   Not

                                   Good

                                   Enough

A Monday Memory.....

When I was a teenager, my Dad made the following statement:
"One day, an enemy is going to walk into this country and take it over without having to fire a shot. Because everyone will be so zonked out on drugs that they won't even notice them coming."  V.R.

Aaaaaand cue eye rolling - which was my initial response
followed by:
"Oh Dad," I said. "That will never happen."

Sadly, and frighteningly, I'm beginning to think he might actually be proven right sometime in the near future.

Thursday's Thought for the Day....

"Whenever I hear modern women complain that they 'can't do it all,' I think of those women who went on foot across this continent, bearing and burying babies, spinning cloth for clothes, creating meals out of nothing, then settling in a place where they had to chop, plow, plant, build to have a home and livelihood. They never insisted they couldn't be superwomen."

And then there is this:

Perhaps it would help if the media published reminders to put life in perspective and recognize there are far more blessings and far more conveniences in our lives today.
Just saying....

Thursday's Thought for the Day....

source: Pinterest

I'm quite late in posting something like this, but as a former teacher I couldn't resist.
There is a lot of truth in it as I well know
from personal experience dealing with a few parents of difficult students.
Sadly, there are parents who still won't "get it."
I hope it gives my teacher friends a laugh.
