Wednesday's Wisdom....

"Prayer is talking to God.
Meditation is letting God talk to you."
~ Yogi Bhajan

Tip for a Tuesday....

"I say a little prayer for you!"

Got worries? Resentments popping into your head?
Reliving old conversations?

When I catch myself letting my mind wander or fill with anxiety, I quickly begin saying prayers. My prayer list is a long one these days - for people battling cancer, dealing with learning disabilities, financial worries and on and on.

Don't have anyone to pray for? Lucky you.
Then say a prayer for all those people
who have no one to pray for them.

I firmly believe in the power of prayer.
At the very least, saying a prayer changes my thoughts and my attitude.

Wednesday's Wisdom....

I follow Joanna Gaines, (Fixer Upper tv show and Magnolia magazine) on Instagram. She posted the wisest advice yesterday and I just had to share it with you!

"It's always been my nature to reflect on the past and linger there a while. I find myself thinking about what I will miss and how life is just moving too fast. I mean Crew is already six months old and saying "mama" (I had to throw that in there, sorry Chip). Drake will be driving in two years and off to college in four. And just like that I have found myself mourning the past but now in future tense. You see what I just did there? This whole time thing can feel like a thief if you let it.
I'm challenging myself in this new year to live for now. The present. Taking in every breath, every sight, and sound and holding it dearly. Not thinking about how the good ol' days have passed us by or how the best is yet to come. But that right now, this very second, this is the gift. These are the days. These are the moments. And I’m gonna breathe them all in. If there's pain and sorrow, or happiness and hope, let it in and then let it out.
I want to enjoy the now because it's the only thing we can actually embrace. I want to hold it carefully. Hold it thoughtfully. I want to rid myself of the little distractions because I have found that these are the thieves that steal our moments and rob our days. But time, time is our most precious gift.
Here's to seeing and finding the beauty, the hope and joy in the right now in 2019. And for goodness sake, let's have some fun while we’re at it!
It's going to be a happy new year indeed. Believing that for all of us."

In other words, "Be where your feet are!" and just be in the moment you are in!

Happy New Year's Eve!

As we say goodbye to 2018 and look forward with hope to 2019, I wanted to share a blog post I recently read and found to be full of wise advice.

I have already applied many of these suggestions to my own life and I can honestly say that doing them makes a difference in the quality of my life.

Suggestion 2 can be a little unsettling, but is extremely important. These days, it can be as simple as downloading one of number of forms online, then taking it to a Notary Public to have it signed and witnessed. (Just "google" it and you'll find all the information you need.)Then advise a family member or friend where you have the papers located.  For those of you with young children, you should include a document which states who you would wish to care for your children should something happen to you and/or your spouse. A legal document, signed by you, can assure your wishes will be followed. Having all your papers in order can give you absolute peace of mind.

Wishing you and yours a Happy and Healthy New Year!!
