Tip for a Tuesday....

“Prayer is vastly superior to worry. With worry, we are helpless; with prayer, we are interceding. When I hear sad news, I try to say a prayer for the victims. When I am troubled, I will say a prayer that asks for relief for myself and for all those who suffer as I do. When I am concerned about my relatives or friends I say a short prayer to myself - "May they be happy and free of suffering."”

Yesterday, we had the heartbreaking task of taking our beloved basset hound, Bentley, to the vet for the final time. Due to the virus, we and all of the other people and pets there for appointments, had to stay in our cars in the parking lot, and the doctors and nurses would come out to us. The man in the car next to us approached us, having guessed the reason we were there after seeing us speak with our Vet. He told us how sorry he was, that he himself had just had to put down one of his dogs a few weeks ago. He then asked if if would be ok if he got back in his car and prayed for us. We said absolutely! He asked our names and the name of our boy. As he walked away, the Englishman hugged me and said, "That should restore your faith in humanity. See, there are so many good people out there."
He's right. That's what I'm focusing on now.

(Amazingly. that I had written the quote above on Sunday, not knowing what was to happen the next day.)
